Monster Energy Athletes Dominate At US Open Of Snowboarding Jamie Anderson & Kjersti Buaas Steal The Show In Slopestyle
With her untouchable talents on the slopestyle course, Lake Tahoe, California?s Jamie Anderson took home the glory and a fat stack of prize money this past weekend at the U.S. Open Of Snowboarding in Stratton, Vermont. Anderson has won every major slopestyle event this season and her winning run at Stratton was flowing and flawless. Her clean, controlled style on the rails and jibs is matched by her aerial abilities. She linked together a jump line combo of a Cab 720 nosegrab straight into a switch backside 540 that her peers couldn?t touch. With this win, Anderson took home her 2nd US Open Slopestyle title. And after winning the New Zealand, Canadian, and European Open events, she made a clean sweep of the series, taking home the 2012 Burton Global Open Series Slopestyle Championship title as well as the TTR Slopestyle World Tour Championship title. Jamie took her position atop the podium in Stratton with a giant smile on her face and accepted all three trophies as well as $50,000 in cash, capping off her most dominant competition season ever with the now familiar champagne shower.

Right behind Jamie in Women?s Slopestyle came legendary Norwegian style-master Kjersti Buaas who took home the 2nd place trophy from Stratton. Kjersti?s top scoring run consisted of a 50-50 on the high flat bar, a huge, stylish backside three sent deep into the landing followed by a frontside 720, gap to backside wallride, and finished with a high speed 50-50 to backside 180 off the canon. Kjersti nabbed the Bronze medal in Slopestyle at XGames as well as another 2nd place finish in the N.Z. Open and was stoked to add another podium finish to her competition season.? Both Anderson and Buaas will travel to Tignes, France next week to compete in the Euro XGames March 14-16, 2012.
