Pakistan India Social Media Mela 2012, dubbed as SOCMM12, is organized at Avari Towers Hotel in Karachi on July 13 and 14.

The Mela has an extensive (read never-ending) list of speakers, more of Pakistan and rare from India.

The deep and burning desire by liberals of Pakistan who want to do anything to themselves and to the honour of Pakistan to get a friendly nod from India.

The Yellow Bloggers: A session was about how corporates are using Social Media and blogging for their benefit ? raising questions on the authenticity and professionalism of such bloggers who churn out fav reviews for their sponsor brands.

What do you call the bloggers who take benefits from Corporates to write favourable blog posts?

Like yellow journalists, you have yellow bloggers too. #Socmm12 Interesting comment from a participant: shouldn't the bloggers disclose the incentives they're offered by corporates? #socmm12

Who were the organizers?: People got curious about the organizers as no detail is available on their website.

The event was sponsored by the US Consulate in Pakistan, and they made no attempt to hide the fact (as Abu Shamil reports).

In the end, SOCMM12 was not about praying, or worrying to miss a prayer.
